Linn County ranks 4th in the State for those living with HIV/AIDS.

Two-Thirds of the cases of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea in Linn County occur in people between 15 and 24 years of age.

STI/HIV/AIDS Alliance

Mission: To focus on awareness and availability of services, media support and advocacy efforts. To focus on stressing early detection to decrease the spread of STI's and HIV, establishing a youth advisory board and the development of a social marketing campaign.

The STI/HIV/AIDS Alliance created a pregnancy resource sheet that contained references for pregnancy testing, prenatal care and education, counseling and STI/HIV testing. HIV/STI brochure was created. In 2002 the workgroup was awarded a grant to air publlic service announcements.
